Your role:
Army Human Resources Administrators are like no other administrative function in the nation. This isn't your average office job - it's better. In an exciting twist, you'll have the opportunity to travel Australia and the world, working in a range of environments. You'll also get to work on Navy and Air Force operations when needed.
Your Military duties include, but aren’t limited to:
- Pay and Personnel Administration – Provide administrative support directly to military personnel, or pay and personnel administrative support for personnel
- Resource and Financial Management – Conduct financial resource management within a unit, encompassing a diverse range of clerical, administrative, resource and financial management duties
- Staff Clerk – Undertake a range of administrative and clerical support functions within a headquarters structure, such as assisting staff officers with planning, contributing to appreciations, developing orders, coordinating tasks and operational support requirements (including financial management and training area support)
- Data Analysis – Review data to discover useful information, inform conclusions and support decision-making

Training:
As part of your initial military training, you’ll learn about the Army and participate in fitness sessions, weapon handling, drill and first aid. The training will provide you with confidence and resilience and upon completion, you’ll feel justifiably proud of what you have achieved.
Location:
Following your initial military training, you could be posted to one of the many Army bases and units across Australia. Human resource administrators are employed across most Army locations primarily QLD, SA and the NT.
Salary:
In the Army you'll get paid a competitive salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications. Upon commencing training, your starting salary will be approximately $58,528 per annum plus 16.4% superannuation and your pay will increase as you progress through training.
On completion of your initial military training and initial employment training, you could earn $79,615 per annum plus generous super.
Eligibility:
For this role, you must:
- Be at least 17 years of age when you enter the ADF
- Have completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and Mathematics
- Be an Australian citizen. If you are not an Australian Citizen you may still be eligible to join the ADF if you meet certain criteria, please visit the ADF Careers Eligibility Page for more details
- Be reasonably fit and healthy. Keeping fit is a big part of joining the ADF. You’ll need to pass a physical fitness test before you join, but don’t worry, we'll give you tips to help you prepare
- Be able to successfully obtain a security clearance
