About the role

Elaia Cafe and Greek Restaurant is seeking an ambitious, motivated and experienced Front of House, Barista and Bar professional to join our team in our casual role at our Launceston, TAS location. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing high-quality beverages, and assisting with bar operations.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting and seating customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
• Taking food and beverage orders, ensuring accurate order entry and prompt service
• Preparing a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffees, teas, and cocktails, to customer specifications
• Maintaining a clean and organised bar area, restocking supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Assisting with cash handling and reconciliation at the end of each shift
• Providing exceptional customer service, making food and wine suggestions and recommendations, anticipating and meeting the needs of our patrons
• Collaborating with the broader team to create a positive and productive work environment

What we're looking for

• Strong customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour
• A genuine love for the hospitality industry, making connections and a commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience
• Barista experience and the ability to prepare high-quality coffee and espresso-based drinks
• Proven experience in a front-of-house or bar role within the hospitality industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively in a high volume, team-oriented environment
