ROLE @ ABBA

We currently have a number of full-time positions available. We are seeking trade qualified Boilermaker - Welder to join our team. Attractive rates based on level of experience flexible working conditions and potential for career progression available to the right candidates.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Boilermaker / Welder First Class to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and repairing metal components and structures according to technical specifications. This role requires proficiency in interpreting detailed blueprints, utilizing various welding techniques, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of all fabricated products.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and project specifications to plan and execute fabrication tasks accurately.

Metal Preparation: Select, measure, cut, and prepare metal components using tools such as flame-cutting torches, hand tools, and advanced cutting machines.

Fabrication: Shape, bend, and manipulate metal sections, pipes, and structures using hand tools, machinery, heating, and hammering techniques.

Assembly & Joining: Align and join metal parts through welding (MIG, TIG, ARC), riveting, and bolting while ensuring structural integrity and precision.

Quality Control: Inspect welds and joints for width, penetration, and adherence to project requirements and safety standards.

Finishing & Maintenance: Smooth and polish welds and surfaces through grinding, chiselling, filing, and finishing techniques to produce high-quality components.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of tools, welding equipment, and machinery to ensure consistent performance.

Safety Compliance: Follow strict workplace health and safety guidelines, ensuring the proper handling of materials and equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

Trade qualification: Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent.

Proven experience as a Boilermaker, Metal Fabricator, or similar role.

Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, ARC, and oxy-acetylene cutting.

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.

Excellent hand-eye coordination, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.

Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, metal cutting machines, and fabrication equipment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality control.

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to project requirements.
