Are you a Counsellor looking to make a positive impact in the family domestic violence space? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in our Breathing Space program!

The Breathing Space Program

Breathing Space is an intensive men’s behaviour change program specifically designed for men who choose to use violence and abuse in their relationships with partner(s) or family members. This is often referred to as Family Domestic Violence and Abuse (FDVA). The program provides educational group work, informal counselling, individual case management and advocacy in a secure and supportive therapeutic setting.

The Role:

As a Counsellor, you will be responsible providing therapeutic support services for men participating in the Breathing Space program.

This role will work within both Family Domestic Violence and Abuse (FDVA) and Feminist Perspectives frameworks, as well as utilise trauma-informed, person-centred, and strengths-based counselling approaches, to offer participants additional therapeutic support in relation to their emotional wellbeing, mental health concerns, and personal challenges.

This role is offered on a permanent part time basis working 45.6 hours a fortnight. This role will be located across both Rockingham and Perth offices, with occasional travel to other sites required.

Who Are We?

Since opening our doors in 1977, our passion for delivering high quality, people-focused support services have continued to flourish. In May 2020, we became the new custodian of White Ribbon Australia, establishing a national footprint for the organisation.

We remain committed to growing a workforce that celebrates diversity and seeks to inspire and empower the people we serve.

While we’ve changed a lot over the past 45 years, our values – Everyone is welcome, Doing what we say, Above and beyond, and Stronger together– remain at the very heart of everything we do.

This is your chance to join an organisation with an exceptional team culture, driven by a commitment to diversity, respect and fairness.
