ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Retail Champion who is motivated, proactive , and ready to take on the next challenge in the New Year. You will support the retail team by overseeing daily operations, ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers and a smooth-running store.

This is a full-time opportunity (35 hours/week), Monday to Friday. Initially the standard working hours will be 8am - 3.30pm, with flexibility offered after the training period.

In this role you will:

• Oversee daily shop operations, including stock management and cash handling
• Work closely with the Retail Manager to deliver on performance objectives for UQ Sport retail stores, including sales, customer service, and visual merchandising
• Assist the Retail Manager in providing coaching and training to UQ Shop's casual employees to ensure they receive the necessary feedback and support
• Demonstrate strong product knowledge and confidently explain product features and benefits to customers
• Create a welcoming and positive shopping environment for customers
• Provide support on an ongoing retail system improvement as required

To be successful in this role you will have:

• At least 2 years of experience in retail or related area
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solver oriented, and proactiveness
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction
• Strong attention to details and a passion for driving sales
• Basic administrative skills and computer literacy
• Proficient in any other language will be a bonus (preferably Mandarin)
