About the role
We have an excellent opportunity for a part-time Payroll Administration Officer to join the team at York and District Co-operative Ltd. Based in our office in the lovely town of York, only 97 kms from the centre of Perth WA, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation's day-to-day payroll and HR administration along with additional Co-operative administration duties.
What you'll be doing
- Activating and onboarding new employees
- Maintaining employee payroll records and leave entitlements
- Accurately processing fortnightly payroll for our team of up to 80 employees, including confirmation and distribution of payments
- Maintaining employee deductions/reimbursements including parental payments and workers compensation
- Ensuring all payroll-related payments, tax obligations and statutory lodgements are processed on time
- Compilation and processing of fortnightly and monthly payroll reporting for submission to management
- Providing payroll and HR related support and guidance to our management team
- Continuously improving payroll and HR processes and procedures to enhance efficiency
- Maintain other assorted administration duties such as insurance claims and co-ordination of staff training
- Provide administration relief for the Co-operative Accounts Administration.
What we're looking for
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional numeracy skills
- Proficiency in using payroll and HR software, technology and Microsoft 365
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion
- Highly organised with the ability to work with a team and autonomously
- Proven experience in a payroll administration role, ideally within a similar organisation
- Experience with Employment Hero payroll and HR software desirable but not essential
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business
