Position Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to lead the Wagga Wagga Site. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing plant performance, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards, and driving continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the production of high-quality animal nutrition products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operations comply with our standards for SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) and Quality.
  • Develop and manage efficient production systems and procedures to meet performance targets and KPIs.
  • Lead the plant team, including Area Supervisors, Production Planner, SHE Officer, Logistics & Shipping Manager, Maintenance Lead, and Site Administrative Assistant.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of plant equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Analyse plant performance and drive continuous improvements through the use of SAP-DataStor or Wincos production systems.
  • Manage inventory control and ensure effective planning with Procurement, S&OP, and Quality departments.
  • Implement new manufacturing innovations and manage CAPEX projects.
  • Coach and develop production staff, ensuring alignment of our values and HR requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all local laws, safety regulations, and business conduct.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a dry blending manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of SHE, operational safety, and plant software applications.
  • Familiarity with ISO, HACCP, or FAMI-QS Feed Safety Standards is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in people management, coaching, and developing diverse teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the organisation.
  • SAP-P45 and TrackWise MOC experience is a plus.
  • Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage.

Key Authorities:

  • Issue instructions to subordinates and manage CAPEX and OPEX within given budget targets.
  • Stop work if conditions are unsafe and enforce Life Saving Rules (LSR).
  • Approve SOPs and hazardous work permits.
  • Lead and enforce security policies and best practices.

Working Environment:
This position will be stationed full-time at the Wagga Wagga site. You will occasionally host visits from customers, suppliers, and business partners and represent the site at regional and global levels within the business.
