About the position
Reporting to the Team Leader Information Technology the Senior Network Administrator is responsible for providing outstanding customer service, support and advice to customers on ICT related enquires. The Senior Network Administrator manages the performance of the Council’s technical systems, hardware and network and administers the installation and upgrades of technical applications. The role has a focus on leading and developing the Council’s Enterprise Architecture for network infrastructure.
Key responsibilities are:
- Lead the development and implementation of Council’s Enterprise Architecture for network infrastructure
- Accountable for the management and performance of Council’s technical systems, hardware and network
- Responsible for oversight of Disaster Recovery Planning and any Business Continuity Strategies
- Implement strategies and manage procedures to achieve an appropriate level of network security.
- Leading a small team of network & infrastructure administrators
Senior Network Administrator - Position Description
About you
- A degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent expertise and relevant practical experience
- Comprehensive expertise in network security best practices, networking concepts, backup procedures and concepts and the management of asset lifecycles.
- Familiarity with modern technologies like SD-WAN, Zero-Trust Architecture and Managing hybrid or Multi-Cloud Environments.
- Strong vendor management skills, including the ability to negotiate and manage contracts with service providers.
- Well-developed communication skills that foster positive working relationships with stakeholders, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management skills.
- Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical and police check.
Salary range is between $114,312 - $120,910 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
