Mackay Regional Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Community Programs Assistant. This position plays a pivotal role in providing consistently high level of customer service and administration support to internal and external customers.
About this opportunity:
In this role you will be based in the vibrant Jubilee Community Centre. You will provide assistance to the Executive Manager of Community Lifestyle as required and support the delivery of some unique and exciting projects and programs within the Community Programs Team including (but not limited to): the Matsuura Sister Cities Program, council's In Kind Support Request Program and council's Performance Achievement Grants Program.
The Community Programs team is a busy and diverse team, and you will contribute to supporting the broader team as required.
You will also complete a variety of administrative tasks within the Community Programs team such as photocopying, filing, distribution of mail and management of records; you will be the team champion of internal systems Safeplan and Promapps.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Certificate III in Business Administration.
- QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
- Experience in a customer service and/or administrative support environment.
- Sound organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Current Working With Children Blue Card - It is an essential requirement for this position to hold a Working with Children Blue Card. Under Queensland legislation, you must hold the Blue Card prior to commencing employment - No Card, No Start policy.
