76 Hour Fortnight Roster - Monday-Friday 6am-3pm (Rostered Day Off on a Monday/Friday every fortnight)

The Role
Join our dynamic workshop team as a HD Mechanic. This is a Permanent, Full-Time position based at our Wedgefield depot, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining our modern fleet of pool vehicles, heavy plant, and equipment.
As a HD Mechanic, your responsibilities will include accurately diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heavy diesel and light vehicles, both in the workshop and the field. You'll efficiently execute planned works, proactively plan and carry out equipment maintenance, and provide valuable input for operational budgets and the Plant Replacement Program. The role requires a proactive approach to maintenance planning, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in our dynamic team.
At the Town of Port Hedland, we prioritise work-life balance with working hours from 6 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday. Additionally, enjoy an accrued rostered day off every fortnight (long weekend!) and 5 weeks of annual leave per year.
Please note: this is not a FIFO role
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Heavy Diesel Mechanic role
- Trade certificate of Heavy Mechanical/ Mechanical Engineering (AUS/NZ Recognised)
- HR class manual driver's license
- Rights to work in Australia
- White Card
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess the above.
