FourQuarters has partnered with an established, industry leading organisation. With a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and professional development, they are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Financial Accountant to join their team.

The Role

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, compliance, and accounting functions within the business. You will play a pivotal role in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, managing budgets, and supporting strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards improving financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legislation.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheets and P&L accounts.
• Coordinate the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, providing key insights and recommendations.
• Review and implement internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and support decision-making.
• Assist with the preparation for external audits and liaise with auditors as needed.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CA qualification preferred).
• Proven experience (3+ years) in a financial accounting role.
• Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and tax compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience with financial software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, SAP).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A proactive, results-driven attitude with the ability to meet deadlines.
