ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Ipswich Flexible School is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition. There are 23 Flexible Schools throughout Australia who offer a full-time and multiyear secondary education program for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. Enrolled young people may express a broad range of complex education and social needs and flexible schools respond with a variety of flexible and innovative teaching and learning practices including vocational planning and the development of social connectedness.
The purpose of a Flexible School is to provide young people with a varied and holistic set of learning experiences supporting them to identify and pursue an individual transition to adulthood, employment, further education and training and social connectedness.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The person occupying this position will support the Head of Campus and staff of Ipswich Flexible School. This person will be the face of the school at reception greeting and assisting incoming visitors, guests and families.
The position reports to the Head of Campus of Ipswich Flexible School
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Campus and staff and assist with best model of practice at the Ipswich Flexible School.
- Complete administrative functions for the school.
- Support effective learning and teaching programs for young people in both middle and senior phases of secondary education.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Ipswich Flexible School’s objectives and planning.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a supportive school environment and in particular to meet the needs of young people to support their engagement in education.
- Maintain communication and reporting processes with the Head of Campus.
- Other duties as required.

ABOUT YOU
- Relevant certificate/diploma or administration experience
- Experience working in a school environment.
- Understanding of service provision to marginalised young people particularly within the alternate education sector.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills, including participating in meeting processes, report writing and negotiation skills.
- Comprehensive experience with computer applications such as databases, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and web technology is essential
- Ability to work to deadlines, multi-task, prioritise the workload, work autonomously and in an integrated manner as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- A Working with Children Clearance Notice
- First Aid qualification is preferred but not required.
- School Officer Level 4 classification range $71,197 - $73,435 per annum pro rata.
