What you need to know...

  • the package: $30.40 to $36.25 per hour plus 25% casual loading plus superannuation
  • location: Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre

About the role

The Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre is the coolest new place in Grafton. The new facility includes an outdoor 50m pool, an accessible zero depth splash pad and an indoor centre with two heated pools, a 25m and combined program and leisure pool due to be finished early March.

We are currently recruiting for Swim Instructors to provide safe, stimulating, and fun learn to swim lessons to develop confidence and capability in young people, adults, and NDIS clients. You will be communicating effectively with participants of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, and contributing to the development of learn to swim lesson plans and classes.

There are several casual positions available. The successful applicant will need to be available to work Monday through to Sunday, some early mornings and some late evenings depending on the needs of the Centre.

To be considered for this position you will need to:

  • Address the essential criteria
  • Attach a cover letter (2 pages maximum) and an up-to-date resume (5 pages maximum) that clearly details your skills & experience as relevant to this position. You will need to demonstrate how you meet the focus capabilities and how your skills will enable you to achieve the key accountabilities.
  • Target questions - answer the 2 target questions - maximum 300 words each question
    Q1. Tell us about your experience in delivering engaging and effective swim instruction?
    Q2. How do you adapt your teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities?
    Q3. How do you contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment for students?

This position is located at the Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.
