About the role
Thornlands Play and Learn, an established early learning centre in Thornlands, is seeking a experienced and passionate Nursery Lead Educator to join our close-knit team. As a part-time role, you will be responsible for creating engaging educational experiences for children aged 6 weeks - 2 years in our Nursery program, as well as providing support across different age groups when needed.
What you'll be doing
- Plan and implement high-quality, play-based educational programs that meet the individual needs and interests of children
- Provide a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
- Observe and document children's progress, and communicate effectively with families about their child's development
- Collaborate with the educational team to ensure consistency in practices and pedagogical approaches
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and centre policies
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve your practice
What we're looking for
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Monday to Friday, 6:15am to 6:15pm Availability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and the team
- Demonstrated understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and a commitment to play-based, child-centred learning
- Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management qualifications
- Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one)
