About the Role

Learn and Grow are searching for our FIRST Occupational Therapist to join our team as the discipline team leader. The role will involve a combination of clinical and non-clinical duties with a focus on supporting the introduction and growth of OT services at Learn and Grow.

Our Senior Occupational Therapist will be a confident and experienced clinician who can service a diverse caseload, provide clinical supervision and support to a growing OT team, and assist with service development and business growth.

Learn and Grow Therapies is a reputable and well established family-owned business who have been offering paediatric Speech Pathology and Music Therapy services for over a decade. In March, our Paddington office will be moving to a newly renovated, spacious, purpose fit, heritage building in Redhill/Kelvin Grove. Our new space will include purpose fit sensory gyms, outdoor spaces, large staff breakout spaces, and messy play areas. • Candidates who have previous experience providing clinical supervision or mentoring to less senior therapists will be highly regarded, but not essential.

• A confident communicator who can successfully build trusting relationships with key referrers and effectively promote Learn and Grow services within our community.
• An understanding of NDIS and the ability to contribute to the development of NDIS specific policies, procedures, reporting templates etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organised with exceptional time management skills.
• Eagerness to work with a diverse caseload and passionate about working with children and families.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Provide high quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention services to a diverse paediatric caseload.
• Support and lead the recruitment and induction of Occupational Therapists on the Learn and Grow team.
• Provide clinical support, mentoring and supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapists on the team.
• Develop and deliver induction programs, clinical templates, clinical practice guidelines and training programs that support the clinical excellence of a growing OT team.
• Work collaboratively in a team to develop and deliver joint sessions and group programs with our SLPs and RMTs.
• Be a passionate and inspiring advocate for OT services by sharing experiences and knowledge within our multidisciplinary team
• Liaise with local child cares and kindys to organise and deliver support services such as screening assessments, parent info nights and staff training sessions (e.g. Kindy Uplift programs).
• Develop and deliver Early Educator Training sessions to teachers and support staff at childcares and kindergartens across Brisbane.
• Participate in referrer nurturing and networking activities with GP practices education centers, schools and other external stakeholders to support a growing OT service.
• Participate in developing clinical development frameworks, policies, systems and processes as required.
• The role will involve a combination of clinical and non-clinical duties.
