About the Position
This School Psychologist role is a 0.8 fte, ongoing opportunity and offers work across two campuses, supporting students from early learning through to Year 12. The position is structured over four days per week—three days at the one campus (Years 4-12) and one day at the other campus (3YO - Year 3). Both campuses are within 10 minutes of each other.
The school is looking for a warm, personable, and relatable individual—someone students genuinely connect with. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building trust with children and adolescents, fostering a sense of safety and belonging. Beyond providing confidential counselling and conducting psychological assessments, this role is about creating meaningful relationships, helping students navigate challenges, and being a trusted support in their school journey. The role includes school holidays off and working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling services to students from early childhood to Year 12, fostering a safe and welcoming space.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel heard, valued, and supported.
- Conduct psychological assessments and develop intervention strategies that are approachable and student-centred.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and leadership teams to implement mental health initiatives and promote a positive school culture.
- Ensure compliance with child safety policies, mandatory reporting requirements, and safeguarding best practices.
- Contribute to staff professional development by providing psychoeducation on student well-being and behavioural strategies.
