• Employment Term: Permanent Full Time
• Location: Cairns, Hollingsworth Elders Village
• Remuneration: $63.68 - $66.74 (Dependant on experience) + 11.5% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances.

• Retention bonus of $2,500 at 12 months

Pinangba service is inviting applications from experienced Nurses to join our Hollingsworth Elders Village in Cairns in the capacity of Clinical Leader.
Pinangba is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lead service delivery arm of UnitingCare. The foundations of Pinangba are built from our cultural identity and strong community relationships and partnerships.
The Pinangba service of Hollingsworth Elders Village is based in a quiet Cairns suburb. We provide premium care in a culturally appropriate setting and pride ourselves on our genuine commitment to making residents feel part of an extended and welcoming community.
Your role
Reporting directly to the Residential Services Manager, you will provide effective care leadership and oversight of clinical care to facilitate quality care based on assessed residents’ needs that enhances and promotes quality of life. You will play a key role in providing clinical mentoring and coaching for all registered and non-registered care staff. A day in this role will see you:
- Ensure resident care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated in accordance with the Pinangba model of care, taking into consideration each client’s physical, social, emotional and clinical needs.
- Assist and inform the Residential Service Manager to ensure that the service meets or exceeds all accreditation standards.
- Provide expert advice and support against all key clinical indicators and their application in practice.
- Provide clinical service monitoring reports to registered staff and management. Pinangba support team complete all auditing and external reporting obligations.
- Ensure that all new clinical staff are appropriately oriented to the clinical care services and supported/encouraged in their ongoing professional development.
- Oversight of clinical and pharmaceutical ordering.
- Infection control and outbreak preparedness for facility – training provided if required through Australasian College of Infection Prevention and Control.
What makes a difference for us?
- Current AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse.
- Post Graduate qualifications in either a Health discipline or Management or working towards is highly desirable.
- Extensive general nursing experience and demonstrated skills reflective of experience.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Australian National Aged Care Classification funding model (ANACC).
- Demonstrated understanding of resident based, person centred care service delivery.
- Extensive clinical care management experience, including experience in Infection control or willingness to undertake training in IPC.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement practices.
