The Kimberley Region is a remote and complex landscape which is renowned for its natural beauty and cultural significance. The region offers many unique opportunities to explore and enjoy world class natural and cultural attractions as well as appreciate the wilderness values of the area.
We are currently seeking to establish a pool of suitable applicants for the role of Operations Officer - East Kimberley District.
Under the direction (Level 3) or general direction (Level 4) of the Operations Manager, you will:
- Assist with (Level 3) or organise (Level 4) the implementation of operations, works programs, activities and projects within the East Kimberley District.
- Assist with the supervision and development of (Level 3) or supervise and develop (Level 4) the Aboriginal Ranger workforce.
- Actively participate in the Traditional Owner engagement forums associated with the position to ensure priorities are met between Traditional Owners and the department.

Selection Criteria
- Some experience (Level 3) or experience (Level 4) in the operational implementation of works programs associated with natural land management or a closely related area.
- Evidence of good (Level 3) or well developed (Level 4) interpersonal and oral communication skills with experience in liaising effectively with external organisations, government agencies, community, and special interest groups. Ability and willingness to work with traditional owners to deliver aspirations and goals through joint management, cooperation or collaborative arrangements.
- Some knowledge and experience (Level 3) or experience knowledge and skills (Level 4) in leading and managing teams, working effectively as part of a team and independently; and showing a high level of self-motivation.
- Experience in infrastructure development, maintenance and budget preparation, control and expenditure of allocated work projects.
