About Us

At Queen Victoria Care, we proudly partner with the University of Tasmania to host and support medical, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health students during their placement experiences in the aged care sector. These students bring fresh perspectives, valuable insights, and innovative ideas that enrich our care environment.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Nurse Facilitator to:

• Facilitate Placements: Act as the primary point of contact for students and University of Tasmania staff, coordinating placement schedules and providing comprehensive pre-placement information. This includes sending welcome emails, placement day schedules, and other essential details to students.
• Support Students: Orientation and debrief students at the beginning and conclusion of their placements.
• Provide Insights: Offer an overview of aged care, including basic demographics of our residents and insights into funding mechanisms.
• Answer Questions: Assist students with placement-related inquiries, including nursing documentation and paramedicine workbooks.
• Sign Off Placements: Use your AHPRA registration to review and sign off nursing students' PebblePad assessments.

About You

You are a confident and empathetic RN with:

• Current AHPRA registration.
• Strong understanding of the aged care sector, including care delivery and funding models.
• Experience or interest in mentoring and educating students.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A commitment to fostering learning and professional growth.
• A current National Police Check, or a willingness to gain one
• COVID vaccinations including booster
• Influenza vaccination (preferred)
