About the role:

Are you someone that is caring & compassionate, who wants to make a difference in the lives of people with a disability?

Reporting to the Coordinator, you will be required to support our valued customers to achieve their everyday goals. Our Every Day Life Skills, Skills 4 Life programs & other Adhoc Programs have a strong focus on helping our customers to learn the skills needed to achieve their individual goals through the programs that we offer.

This role would suit those with a genuine desire to promote the independence and inclusion in society of people with disability or developmental delay as well as a desire to support individuals to have a voice, choice, and exercise control over their own lives to achieve their individual goals.

There are a variety of shifts available including -

  • Weekdays & weekends 2pm to 7pm
  • Weekday shifts from 9am to 3pm - 2pm to 8pm
  • Weekends 9am to 3pm

These shifts would be suitable for an individual looking to grow in the role of Disability Support Worker and increase their casual hours as the programs expand.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the disability sector
  • Experience working with young people aged 10 to 25
  • Experience supporting customers with skill development and achieving their goals.
  • Experience in Everyday Life Skills and/or Vocational Skills

Essential Criteria:

  • A demonstrated commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of our customers
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with our customers and to support their individual care plans, as appropriate.
  • Experience supporting customers with psychosocial disability, Intellectual disability, Acquired brain injury, physical disability, epilepsy and behaviours of concern.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A current Driver's Licence
  • QLD Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate - "Quality, Safety & You".
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
