TRADES ASSISTANT

Join our team as a Trade Assistant at Hamilton Island, where you'll support skilled tradespeople in maintaining and repairing essential systems. Be part of a collaborative team in a vibrant environment, all while enjoying the island’s breathtaking scenery.

Your Role: In this role, you will:

  • Perform general labouring for all tradespeople on project sites, following correct procedures to maintain high product quality
  • Keep job sites neat, tidy, and clean always
  • Collect and deliver materials as required
  • Accurately record and process all labour hours, materials, and information

About You: You have a “can-do” attitude, are organised, friendly, polite, and enjoy working in a close-knit team. You understand that your role plays a crucial part in ensuring our guests’ enjoyment of the island.

To be successful you will have:

  • OH&S White Card (essential)
  • Current manual drivers license (essential)
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
  • EWP and Forklift would be highly desirable

The island was purchased by renowned Australian winemaker, Bob Oatley, in 2003, and since, has become one of the world’s leading holiday destinations.

Environment

While there is an abundance of restaurants, bars and resorts on Hamilton Island, only a third of the island is developed - meaning the rest remains in its pristine, natural state. There are more than a dozen walking trails through which guests can explore the island.

Infrastructure

Every year, the Oatley family invests millions of dollars in improving the accommodation, infrastructure and services available on Hamilton Island. This includes ensuring that waste is disposed of in the most environmentally-friendly manner - and is re-used wherever possible - as well as making sure power sources are utilised in the most efficient way.
