ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for fostering strong relationships between NECA and its members, industry stakeholders, and sponsors, while driving membership growth and engagement.
As the central coordination point for NECA’s operations in QLD, this role works collaboratively with key QLD-based team members—including but not limited to the IR Practice Manager, Government Relations Manager, Group Training Branch Manager, HSEQ Advisor, and Technical Advisor—to ensure alignment, enhance engagement opportunities, and provide support in driving business and membership value.
This position is pivotal in expanding NECA’s presence in QLD by opening doors to new opportunities, facilitating introductions, and attending member meetings alongside relevant specialists to maximise value for both members and the internal NECA team.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of the Electrotechnology Industry, represent NECA at events, and contribute to media content. This role offers a flexible work-from-home arrangement with some travel required to attend meetings, events, and member consultations.
Travel within QLD (and some interstate travel from time to time) will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing growth strategies and plans
- Develop and execute strategies to increase NECA membership and enhance long-term retention.
- Serve as the key point of coordination for QLD-based NECA team members, assisting them in accessing and servicing member needs.
- Build strong relationships with current and prospective members, understanding their needs and aligning NECA’s services to provide value.
- Facilitate introductions and accompany team members to member meetings when required.
- Act as a connector between NECA members and internal subject matter experts.
- Manage and retain relationships with sponsors and referral partners.
- Contact members to ensure engagement in the NECA Election Process.
- Contact members to ensure engagement in the NECA Excellence Awards, together with assisting with the development of X Awards submissions.
- Identify opportunities to expand membership, sponsorships, and industry partnerships.
- Develop growth strategies to increase ancillary sales of NECA’s products and services.
- Research business opportunities, industry trends, and viable income streams to enhance NECA’s value proposition.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for QLD-based team members to engage with members and potential clients.
- Plan and oversee industry events, including networking nights, Excellence Awards, and sponsorship-related engagements.
- Host and/or attend NECA events, ensuring strong member engagement and relationship-building.
- Represent NECA at external industry events, including wholesaler trade events, to strengthen industry presence.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, ensuring timely updates on new and existing members.
- Follow industry trends locally and nationally, keeping NECA informed of relevant developments.
- Provide reports and insights in fortnightly SCRUM review meetings.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
This opportunity is perfect for someone with well-honed communication skills. You will be able to understand our members’ needs and be able to confidently link them with the correct advice, resources or the expertise that they need to overcome their challenges.
As our members are located all over QLD, we are looking for someone who enjoys traveling and working remotely. A largely autonomous role, you will be a part of a national team, reporting to the Operations Manager.
In addition, you are an energetic person with confidence in public speaking, giving you the ability to present at work functions and corporate events.
You could be an Electrician looking to get off the tools or someone with exceptional sales skills.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and consultation skills
- Excellent computer, numerical and literacy skills
- Strong organisational and planning ability
- Experience in working in a customer focused business environment requiring accuracy, initiative and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to client focus, excellent client service skills, and proven ability to develop and influence client relationships
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in use of Microsoft Office systems and software including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- A current driver’s licence
- Ability to travel
- Experience in the electrical industry would be an advantage
