Role:

An opportunity has become available for a Security Officer on a permanent basis. This role involves shift work on a rotating 7:7 roster as the mine operates 24/7, this includes requirements to cover weekends and public holidays.

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Security Officer’s role is to deliver comprehensive security and emergency response services to site, maintain fundamental security and safety of site assets and remote properties and to ensure compliance with Victory Minerals Pty Ltd fitness for work policies.

Roster: Permanent

Hours: 12-hour shifts: Day shift: 6 am to 6 pm; Night shift: 6 pm to 6 am

Tasks and Responsibilities

As a Security Officer your duties will include but not limited to:

Security:

• Conduct front of house meet/greet duties while representing Victory Minerals Pty Ltd in a professional manner
• Monitor Victory Minerals Pty Ltd assets via closed circuit television (CCTV)
• Assist with investigations, witness statements, securing evidence at an incident scene, preparing reports, and giving evidence as directed
• Report daily Security related activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences, including regular patrols of the Victory Minerals Pty Ltd Mine Site, Properties and other Assets including the Tailings Storage Facility (TSF), Substation and Mine Ventilation shafts.
• Monitor and direct Switchboard calls
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances
• Conduct Drug and Alcohol screening of site personnel and visitors in accordance with Victory Minerals Pty Ltd fit for work policy.
• Conduct regular search/seizure of persons and property
• Maintain security of site and commercial premise keys and issuing registers.

Emergency Response

• Provide initial control/point of contact for the activation of emergency events including:
• Receiving and recording Emergency Information
• Contact and Coordinate the response of Police/Fire/Ambulance
• Act as the initial responder for Emergency Incidents
• Mobilise/notify afterhours stakeholders on the Emergency Management Team (EMT).
• Provide first aid services in the event of an incident or accident and coordinate additional medical treatment as required.
• Participate in all safety and health initiatives.
• Manage site First Aid services and equipment

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a high regard for safety, effective communication skills and the ability to work with minimal direct supervision in a small team environment.

Essential

• Valid Manual C Class Drivers Licence
• Certificate II in Security Operations (Cert III desirable)
• Nationally accredited Drug and Alcohol Testing certificate (10275 NAT or equivalent).
• Current nationally accredited First Aid and CPR certification
• Excellent communication and time management skills

Desirable

• Knowledge of Gallagher Command Centre access control system or equivalent and CCTV monitoring software
• Current nationally accredited Advanced First Aid/Occupational First Aid certification or higher
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and Microsoft applications
• Experience in either Policing, Armed Services, Fire and Rescue, Ambulance or similar Emergency Service
