Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health & Community Services is Canberra’s only Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service and one of the leading organisations of its type nationally. Located in the heart of Canberra in our recently purpose-built facility, we provide trusted holistic healthcare to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of the ACT and surrounding areas.

We have a great multidisciplinary clinical team including GPs, visiting specialists, nurse practitioners, nurses, allied health specialists, client transport and admin support. We now need more GPs to meet the needs of the community. This is a great opportunity to directly contribute to closing the gap on health outcomes for First Nations people.

Features of the clinical work:

• Wide variety of general practice work (mix of walk-ins and appointments)

• Option to do some shifts at the local prison as part of our dedicated, nation-leading prison program

• Working hours are weekdays 9 am – 5 pm (no after hours)

• Competitive salaries.

You must have the following:

• Full work rights in Australia

• Fellow with RACGP or ACRRM

• Specialist registration with AHPRA

• Interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
