Steelmaking Coal
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground Steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose
Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor with a passion for both dragline & truck and shovel safe production, at our Capcoal Surface Operations based in Middlemount, Queensland.
Reporting through to the Mining Superintendent, you as the successful candidate will demonstrate a drive for safety as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills. As an experienced supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and leading a large team of operators to ensure operational production standards are met.
You will effectively plan, monitor and coordinate personnel, equipment and resources to achieve the companies set targets and schedules.
This role will be of interest to someone who enjoys coaching and mentoring an established crew, interesting investigative challenges and effectively working with other departments on site.
Qualifications
Relevant skills, knowledge and experience required for this role include:
- To be successful in the role, you will have supervisor experience running a large team within an open cut mining operation
- Demonstrated experience with dragline and truck and shovel operations and a working knowledge of relevant legislation.
- You will also hold relevant certifications including S1, S2, S3 and G2, OCE ticket desirable but not mandatory
