Environmental Engineer - Legacy Landfill | 12 Month Contract

We are looking for a dedicated individual to plan, coordinate, and manage environmental compliance activities at the Legacy Landfill site. The ideal candidate will minimise environmental risks by implementing best practice initiatives and ensuring all activities meet compliance requirements. This role requires strong organisational and problem-solving skills to maintain environmental safety and efficiency at the site.
In this role you will:

• Manage operations at a closed landfill site, including site monitoring and leachate treatment.
• Analyse environmental data and provide technical advice.
• Identify and address environmental hazards, proposing improvements and implementing interventions.
• Support the development and implementation of landfill management plans.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver project outcomes.
• Manage project documentation, cost estimates, and obtain quotations for minor works.
• Respond to inquiries, write reports, and prepare business case documentation.
• Maintain efficient task management to meet deadlines, cost, and quality objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the EPA.
• Respond to environmental incidents and notify relevant stakeholders.
• Communicate with workers on environmental management issues.
