We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a supportive team in Alice Springs.

You will be responsible for providing a culturally appropriate, effective, efficient and contemporary social work assessment and intervention service, meeting the needs of Alice Springs Hospital patients, their families and significant others. Tasks will include:

• Psychosocial assessments
• Development of appropriate interventions
• Discharge planning
• Family work
• Counselling
• Liaison with multidisciplinary treatment teams to achieve optimal health outcomes

Alice Springs Hospital is a 209 bed regional facility, providing services to a population of 33,000 of whom around 25% are indigenous. You may be required to participate in after-hours Social Work Services (Saturday/Sunday/Public Holidays).

Role Requirements

• Qualification in Social Work that meets membership eligibility requirements of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Prior hospital experience preferred but extensive social work experience will be considered
