Assistant Accountant – Hospitality | Up to $100K + Super | Midland

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established hospitality organisation seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to step into a hands-on role with a dynamic business.

About the Role: This position is ideal for someone with strong accounting experience, particularly in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll support, BAS preparation, and complex reconciliations. While formal qualifications are not essential, practical experience in hospitality or a similar fast-paced industry is highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage end-to-end AP and AR processes, ensuring accurate processing and reconciliation of invoices, payments, and receivables.
• Payroll Support: Liaise with the outsourced payroll provider (PAYD), ensuring award rates (e.g., HIGA) are correctly applied and resolving payroll queries.
• BAS Preparation: Take ownership of BAS lodgments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Manage monthly reconciliations across multiple modules in EZY, including the Fixed Asset Register and General Ledger, identifying and investigating variances.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in AP, AR, payroll processing, award interpretation, and compliance.
• Strong understanding of BAS and GST reporting.
• Hands-on experience with complex accounting systems and multi-module reconciliations.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in hospitality accounting is a plus!
