The Role

With structured systems in place, your focus will be on leading day-to-day orchard operations, ensuring you get the best out of your team of nine permanent staff plus seasonal casuals. Success in this role means balancing hands-on leadership with commercial oversight, including budget management and reporting.

You’ll be well-supported, working closely with the Regional Manager and agronomists to optimise yields, refine harvesting processes, and navigate workforce planning. A key part of the role is mentoring your team, driving a strong safety culture, and ensuring smooth, efficient operations in a well-resourced, commercially driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial & Budget Management – Work closely with the Regional Manager to manage budgets, ensuring cost control, financial accountability, and operational efficiency.
• Operational Leadership – Oversee all aspects of daily farm operations, including irrigation (with support from your Irrigation Manager), orchard maintenance, and harvest planning.
• Team Leadership & Development – Lead a core team of 9 full-time staff plus seasonal casuals, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Workforce Planning – With support from HR, manage recruitment, training, and workforce retention.
• Corporate Reporting & Compliance – Maintain clear and accurate financial and operational records.
• Sustainability & WHS Leadership – Champion and uphold workplace health and safety standards and sustainable best practices.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a results-driven farm manager with a balance of commercial acumen and hands-on leadership. The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven orchard management experience - preferably in a corporate farming environment.
• Budget management expertise, with experience reporting financials (preferred).
• Good leadership skills, with the ability to develop and retain a productive team.
• Experience in tree cropping or permanent plantings.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
