Generous salary package – to be negotiated with the successful applicant and provided with service maintenance ute. Salary range is $75,000 to $85,000 per annum.

About us:
Ceres Poultry Group is a family owned free-ranger broiler chicken business based on the Northern Adelaide Plains and at Pt Wakefield. There are two ‘hubs’ with this role working between Pt Wakefileld and Two Wells. The farms all work well together with the ability to share staff if required and for managerial support from other farm managers. The business has a fulltime operations manager and farm managers, and these people are key to your success. They will support you with the production of the programmed maintenance and major repairs that are required.
Being a family-owned business, there is a direct path of communication between the farm managers ,operation manager and the owners. The business has the advantage of being nimble and acting quickly and decisively when needed. About the position:
Reporting to the operations manager, the maintenance person / relief manager is responsible for the internal maintenance of our production assets. This includes inside sheds and the surrounding farm areas. In addition to this, the role will, from time to time cover
You are a team leader with attention to detail to assist with effective management, maintain farm facilities and equipment and attend to emergency breakdowns. The health and well-being of our people and livestock is of the utmost importance and this should be a key focus for you.

Key position accountabilities:
Maintenance Manager Role
- Maintaining farm production equipment in a proactive manner with planned maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
- Responding to breakdowns across the group and diagnosing issues and then successfully repairing the fault.
- Working in conjunction with farm mangers to plan maintenance work and also assisting them with training as required for specific knowledge around task-based skills.
Relief Manager Role
- Overseeing the farm operations when the farm manager is on leave. This will require you to manage the farm and the team onsite to achieve the outcomes required. (Animal health, production measures, staff, etc)
- Being responsible for alarm calls overnight when on duty. The company will provide you with suitable accommodation on site so that you can successfully manage the farm overnights
- From time to time, there may be a request to assist with managing a farm at short notice (sick leave etc) and this will be done in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
Selection Criteria:
- Extensive experience in maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
- Experience in livestock production with poultry experience being highly advantageous.
- Strong and collaborative team-leader with a proven history in fostering team success.
- Good communicator, both written and oral with a sound grasp of the English language.
- Skills in technology; computers and electronics.
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must hold a valid driver’s licence.
- Tertiary qualifications in agriculture and or poultry production are highly regarded.
