HorizonOne Recruitment
Posted 17 days ago
This essential government department is committed to advancing Australia’s interests internationally, focusing on diplomacy, trade, and development. They work with international partners and other countries to tackle global challenges, increase trade and investment opportunities, protect international rules, keep our region stable and help Australians overseas.
They have an excellent reputation, their work focuses on high-profile initiatives and they are one of the most sought-after employees in the APS. Given the security requirements of the Department, you must have a Negative Vetting 1 clearance in order to be considered.
The Opportunity
There is a part-time (3 days per week) labour hire contract available, which is initially a 3-month engagement until 30 June 2025 with the possibility of 2 x 3-month extensions.
The role is situated in the Indonesia Development and Partnerships Section (ICP), which undertakes secretariat functions for the Australia-Indonesia Institute (AII), including managing the annual AII grant program and procurement arrangements for two Australia-Indonesia exchange programs.
Part-time contracts like these don’t come up very often in government. Perhaps you’re looking for something part-time whilst completing study, or looking for something to get you through the election period.
The Role
The new role involves providing financial and corporate support for AII programs funded through Official Development Assistance, including:
- Draft grant and procurement documentation in compliance with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Principles, Commonwealth Procurement Rules and departmental policies and procedures
- Support grant and contract management, including monitoring, evaluation and learning activities
- Complete data entry of agreements into relevant financial management and reporting systems (i.e. SAP)
- Assist with group mailbox management
- Undertake other administrative support for grant and procurement-related activities, including using financial management systems such as SAP Contracts and SAP GUI
- Support AII board travel arrangements, meetings and visits
The Ideal Person
To be eligible for this role, you must have a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance and be based in Canberra (so that you can attend a Canberra-based office).
You will have a background in procurement, contract management, grants or program management in a Commonwealth government setting. Ideally you’ll also have experience using SAP.
The ability to work collegiately as well as autonomously, and having excellent written and oral communication skills will also be important.
Salary / Rate
- $60/hr - $80/hr + 11.5% Super (includes casual loading)
- 3-month labour hire contract with 2 x 3-month extensions
- Part-time (3 days per week)
- Office located in central Canberra
