About the role

Neuro Flourish, a newly established, rapidly growing neurodiversity-affirming, multidisciplinary allied health clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Psychologist to join our growing team.

This role is suited to an experienced psychologist who is looking for the next step in their career.
You will be the sole psychologist in an experienced team of speech pathologists and a social worker (and actively recruiting for other allied health professionals).

In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychological assessments, neurodiversity-affirming supports and evidence-based therapies to children and adolescents in our Mayfield, NSW clinic, online via telehealth and in the community (e.g. home visits, school visits).

You will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our children, adolescents and their families.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology or equivalent, with registration as a Psychologist in Australia. (Registered or Provisional Psychologists considered based on experience).
  • 3+ years experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments to diagnose and collaboratively develop support plans for the children and adolescents accessing supports at Neuro Flourish.
  • Experience delivering high-quality, individualised support sessions using neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), Dialectical behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions, play therapy and neurodiversity-affirming therapy.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and external providers such as paediatricians and school counsellors to provide holistic and integrated care for clients.
  • AHPRA registration (current and in good standing).
  • Current First Aid and CPR training, ensuring a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check (current and valid).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, team members and the community.
  • Experience training and educating allied health professionals, educators, families and the community.
  • Passion for neurodiversity-affirming practice—dedicated to supporting children with diverse needs and affirming their unique strengths.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of communication methods and sensory processing differences.
  • Desire to make a positive impact by working collaboratively with families and a multidisciplinary team to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Experience and/or desire to participate in neurodiversity-affirming research projects.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Conduct Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments from a strengths-based lens, identifying strengths and areas of support for each child.
  • Develop and Implement Support Plans: Design and deliver individualised support plans that align with each child and family’s goals, while ensuring evidence-based treatment and supports.
  • Provide supports in the family’s preferred location: Travel to schools, homes, and community settings to deliver on-site therapy, or online fostering a comfortable and accessible environment for children and families.
  • Family and Caregiver Collaboration: Engage and work collaboratively with families and caregivers to support skill development, offer training, and provide guidance to reinforce therapeutic goals at home.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete therapeutic administration tasks, including progress note writing, preparing reports, and managing documentation like consent forms, service agreements, and risk assessments in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Significant autonomy and flexibility over your own schedule:
  • Participate in collaborative multidisciplinary team meetings and joint sessions, as required.
  • Maintaining detailed case notes and documentation in accordance with professional and organisational standards
  • Ensure all individuals goals and services align with neurodiversity-affirming practice: Utilise neurodiversity-affirming approaches that respect each child’s unique strengths, supporting neurodivergent identities and providing holistic care.
  • Deliver high-quality, individualised, neurodiversity-affirming psychological assessments and supports to children, adolescents and their families in various settings, including our clinic (Mayfield, NSW), client home, pre-schools, schools, telehealth and community spaces.

Benefits

  • Pay rate: $52.00 – $70.00 per hour + super (negotiable based on KPIs and experience)
  • Flexible working hours / schedule your week to fit in with your life.
  • Part time (16 hours per week minimum) or Full Time considered (for the successful applicant).
  • Paid clinical supervision (external) – frequency negotiable
  • Working within an experienced and growing team of speech pathologists, social worker and other allied health professionals.
  • Administrative support
