We are seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Groomer to join our team at Lala & Bear Dog Grooming. The ideal candidate will have a strong love for animals, excellent grooming skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional care and service to our furry clients. As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for grooming a variety of dog breeds, ensuring they look and feel their best.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $33.00 – $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25-38 per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming and ear cleaning.
• Assess the condition of dogs and recommend appropriate grooming services based on their coat, skin, and health needs.
• Handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with care and professionalism.
• Communicate with pet owners to understand their preferences and provide grooming recommendations.
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
• Manage grooming appointments efficiently, ensuring timely service for each client and working with clients to provide grooming recommendations.
• Keep accurate records of each grooming session, noting any special needs or issues encountered during the grooming process.
• Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring pet owners are satisfied with the grooming results.
• Monitor the overall well-being of the dogs during the grooming process and report any health concerns to the pet owner.
• Stay updated on the latest grooming techniques, tools, and products.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a professional Dog Groomer, with a portfolio of work or client testimonials.
• Certification in dog grooming is preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of different dog breeds and their specific grooming needs.
• Ability to handle and groom dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality work.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods.

Working Conditions:

• Must be comfortable working with animals in various states of grooming, including those with behavioral issues.
• Whilst we have an electronically lifted bath and table you may be required to lift dogs and standing for extended periods.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, as needed.
