What you'll do:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the planning phase of schools within the Flood Resilience Program. You will be responsible for developing preliminary evaluations, detailed business cases, and securing ministerial infrastructure designations. Your ability to coordinate teams of external consultants efficiently will be crucial in this role. You will also assist with procurement activities for engaging external consultants. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholder groups and agencies.
Develop Preliminary Evaluations, Detailed Business Cases, and Ministerial Infrastructure Designations for the Flood Resilience Program unit with minimal supervision
Coordinate teams of external consultants for efficient development of the work
Assist with procurement activities for the engagement of external consultants
Liaise as necessary with internal and external stakeholder groups and agencies
Provide project specific advice to management and the executive, and liaise with other units as required
Work collaboratively with other staff members and external consultants
Participate in the Flood Resilience Program team meetings, contribute to the development and application of policies and procedures that support the strategic direction of the department for a range of infrastructure resilience issues
Build and maintain high levels of communication and collaborative partnerships with internal units and external agencies and school stakeholders to facilitate achievement of project objectives
Develop and maintain project programs to a high standard
Undertake project risk assessments to a high standard to ensure both project and corporate risks are captured and mitigated

Proven experience in project management, preferably within government infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of infrastructure planning and design processes
Experience in coordinating teams of external consultants for efficient development of work
Ability to provide project-specific advice to management and executives
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal units, external agencies, and school stakeholders
Experience in undertaking project risk assessments to a high standard
