  • Location: Macquarie Hospital, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

The Patient Services Department at MQ Health is currently hiring experienced health administration staff to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment on a Full-time, Part-time, or Casual basis.

Key accountabilities include (not limited to):

  • Providing administrative support and liaising with patients in person and over the phone
  • Managing patient appointments at the hospital and conducting all required paperwork and checks
  • Performing Private Health Fund Eligibility checks and assessing level of Private Health insurance
  • Ensuring patients are informed of any financial impacts of their service and are billed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Updating and maintaining confidentiality of patient records

About You
The role will be responsible for the provision of high-quality administrative support services including performing private health fund checks, admitting patients to the hospital, staffing front desk reception and operating the hospital main switch. You will work as part of a team to ensure a high-quality patient experience and work with clinical staff, enabling them to run an efficient and professional health service. The role requires a firm commitment to excellent customer service and patient-centred care.

To Apply
To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your CV and 1-page cover letter:

  • Experience within reception, administration and/or main switch environment- preferably working a healthcare setting
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills and ability to build rapport and empathise with patients
  • Demonstrated commitment to high level of customer service delivered in a professional manner at all times
  • Competency in health-related software packages (preferably TrakCare, Eclipse, Fund Portals)
  • Experience and knowledge of private health funds and/or healthcare billing
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to uphold and be a steward of the Mission, Vision and Values of MQ Health.

Role Specific Conditions:

  • MQ Health Immunisation Screening (Category A, under NSW Health)
  • Working with Children Check clearance for NSW
  • Criminal History Check
