Cyber Security Consultant - The Role
We're looking for enthusiastic cyber security consultants with around 2 years experience who are keen to take on responsibility and challenges to progress their careers into a Senior Cyber Security Consultant with our support.
As a Cyber Security Consultant Consultant, you will play the role of trusted advisor to our clients. With support from senior team members, you'll lead engagements and take on responsibility for delivering client outcomes, preparing you for your next career progression into a Senior Cyber Security Consultant.
You will be involved in various phases of client engagements, from initial analysis of client requirements to the development of client deliverables. You will work closely with senior team members and clients to understand client challenges, offering expert advice and insights to enable project success.
You will require a blend of GRC skills, industry knowledge, and client management abilities. As a consultant with us, you'll be working with large, interesting clients facing complex challenges. You'll have the close support of experienced professionals to guide your work and growth, and the support of a tight-knit, close working team of people who want to see you thrive.
Mandatory Requirements
The must have's
- Based in Brisbane or the Gold Coast with full working rights in Australia. Due to our clients' requirements this is a must, and we aren't considering exceptions to this.
- Open to remote work, with on-site requirements based on the needs of our clients.
- Around 2 years of experience in cyber security consulting (superstar candidates with less experience may be considered for a pathway into this role)
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Strong understanding of cyber security concepts, methodologies and practices.
- Formal qualification in cyber security, information technology, or a related field.
- A kind, respectful demeanour, a can-do attitude and a team spirit. There’s no abrasive geniuses here
Key Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Client Engagement: Deliver GRC client engagements, offering expert advice and tailored solutions.
- Project Management: Participate in and lead all stages of GRC client projects, from planning to execution, with close support from our directors.
- Solution Development: Develop and propose innovative GRC solutions to address client challenges.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met, and in doing so; contribute to the growth of the business, its reputation and its pipeline.
- Mentorship: Guide junior team members in their project roles and professional development.
- Knowledge Sharing: Proactive GRC research, and sharing industry knowledge and best practices to enhance internal and client-facing outcomes.
Key Competencies
What you'll need
- Demonstrated experience in helping organisations align to better practice standards such as ISO 27001, Essential 8, NIST, Right Fit for Risk, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in developing cyber security governance, risk, compliance and strategy outcomes for large or complex organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the delivery of cyber security consulting engagements or their components.
