The role:

A newly created role now exists within Rix Asset Maintenance Pty Ltd (RAMS’s) workshop team for a Plant Manager to jump onboard and lead our business unit’s maintenance team. We are seeking a driven individual, with a robust background in overseeing the maintenance, repair and management of all Ground Engineering plant & equipment. This is a full-time role based at our workshop in Molendinar.

Your impact:

The position will lead our growing maintenance team to ensure that all of our maintenance items are actioned in a timely fashion to keep our projects running to program.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Offering expert advice to develop risk assessments, standard operations procedures, work method statements and position descriptions.
  • Drive the planned preventative maintenance strategy working closely with our Workshop Supervisor for all plant and equipment.
  • Identify areas of improvement and provide coaching and development strategies for staff.
  • Assist in the training and learning regime of all RAM employees and sub-contractors.
  • Managing our maintenance team and driving productivity and profitability.
  • Managing the day-to-day planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs with the Workshop Supervisor
  • Ensure all workshop jobs and projects are completed within budget and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all work is completed as scheduled to RAM quality and safety standards.
  • Manage all Plant locations and allocations
  • Manage all LV’s, allocations, servicing, and motorpass usage
  • Establish strong working relationships with relevant site managers to ensure full understanding of maintenance requirements and priorities.
  • Delegate tasks, deliver training and uphold quality standards within the maintenance team.
  • Conducting internal safety and quality audits on plant & equipment, ensuring compliance.
  • Ensuring a very strict adherence to health, safety, quality & environmental standards across our projects and the workshop.
  • Accurate record keeping and administrations across day-to-day operations.
  • Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure best outcome for business.
  • Supervision of parts ordering and procurement process.
  • Ensure that monitoring tools such as KPIs and other standard measures are utilised to improve maintenance processes.
  • Supervise rostering of workshop personnel and site Fitters with Workshop Supervisor
  • Ensure optimal utilisation of plant and equipment to limit down time.
  • Initiate and lead investigations of equipment failures to determine root cause.

Qualifications:

  • Trade or Qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering
  • White Card
  • Driving License

Experience:

  • 3 Years in a similar role
  • Experience in basic use of Microsoft Office Suite, data and file recording.
  • Experience in Managing Relationships, People Management
  • Experience in Safety, Community and Environmental Management
  • Experience in Quality Management and Planning
