At Kaloma, a 69-bed aged care facility in Goondiwindi that also delivers community aged care packages, every detail matters. As a not-for-profit organisation governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, every dollar you help save goes right back into the care of our residents.

• Impact & Purpose: Be part of a team that directly improves the quality of life for our residents.
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician who thrives on keeping our facility in tip-top shape. You’ll be responsible for:
• Everyday Repairs: From changing light bulbs to fixing taps and washers, you’ll handle day-to-day repairs that make a difference.
• Preventative & Corrective Maintenance: Keep equipment running smoothly through scheduled upkeep and timely repairs.
• Versatile Tasks: Use a variety of tools and equipment to tackle maintenance challenges efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Contractor Coordination: Help engage, induct, and manage external contractors to ensure quality work.
• Inspections & Stock Control: Conduct periodic inspections, maintain the facility’s grounds when needed, and manage orders and stock for maintenance supplies.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all tasks meet Australian Standards, OH&S, and fire/evacuation requirements while always putting resident dignity first.
What We’re Looking For
We value a “can-do” attitude and a meticulous eye for detail. Ideal candidates will have:
• Experience in maintenance, building, or a similar hands-on role
• Skills in painting, carpentry, or general repairs
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
• A friendly, independent work ethic, with the ability to work autonomously
• Strong communication skills and a genuine respect for residents and colleagues
• The ability to be on-call outside standard working hours when required
You’ll Need:
• A current NDIS Workers Screening Check (or a willingness to obtain one)
• Full, non-restricted working rights in Australia
• A background in maintenance or aged care is desirable, though not essential
• A commitment to continuous learning and operational improvement
• Reliability, punctuality, and physical fitness to manage the demands of the role
Ready to make a meaningful impact and help create a safe, welcoming environment for our residents? Join us at Kaloma and be a key part of a team that truly cares.
