About This Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused, and organised Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our team at Patina at Alumni Court, a premier dining venue located on UQ's picturesque St Lucia campus. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, smooth workflow, and a positive team environment.
We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for great food, outstanding customer service, and team leadership. You will supervise and support front-of-house staff, coordinate daily service, and maintain high operational standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supervise and lead the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional service.
- Ensure smooth daily operations, maintaining high service and hygiene standards.
- Provide on-shift training and support to develop team capabilities.
- Oversee POS system updates, cash handling, and stock control.
- Engage with customers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
- Work closely with kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure seamless service.

About You
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a high-profile café, restaurant, or banqueting environment.
- Experience with setting and running events
- Current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- Barista experience with a strong knowledge of coffee preparation and service.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound understanding of WHS regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Experience with POS systems and financial responsibilities such as handling transactions and reporting.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- High standard of personal grooming and hygiene.
The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including, right to work in Australia, criminal history and education checks.
