
Project Officer - Emergency Management

The City of Clarence is seeking a passionate Project Manager to help improve our Emergency Management efforts. The successful candidate will work with the council and external partners to ensure our community is well-prepared and resilient.
As the Project Officer – Emergency Management, your main duties will include:
- Assisting the Head of People, Safety and Culture with developing community risk strategies and policies.
- Working with the Manager of Community Services to create a program for vulnerable people in emergencies.
- Updating and improving the council’s Emergency Management Plan (EMP) with input from stakeholders.
- Designing training and exercises for staff to improve emergency management practices.
- Collaborating with external agencies to strengthen emergency management partnerships.
- Raising awareness of the council’s emergency management framework and supporting community resilience programs.
- Providing support to the Municipal Emergency Management Committee and Internal Emergency Management Working Group.
- Joining the Incident Management Team and being available to respond to emergencies.
About you
You’re a proactive and passionate professional with a strong background in emergency management. We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong administrative and planning skills, with experience in risk or emergency management.
- Can develop and implement community-based projects and policies.
- Manages multiple priorities and meets deadlines effectively.
- Works well with different agencies and communities.
- Communicates clearly with diverse stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Builds strong relationships and influences decision-making.
- Thinks creatively and analytically to solve problems.
What we offer you
- 3 days per week
- 2-year contract
- A base salary between $89,760.55 and $99,774.18 (pro-rata) will be offered (dependent on skills and experience) + 12.5% superannuation.
