A bit about the role

We are looking for a Coordinator Strategic and Interface Projects to join our team. In this role, you will play an important role in the strategic coordination of Council input into State Government major transport projects (including Level Crossing Removal Projects and Suburban Rail Loop) within Kingston and oversee cross organisational strategic projects.

This role is critical to Council ensuring a unified and coordinated front in responding to and synchronising Council’s involvement in these projects to ensure the best possible outcomes for the community.

Whilst major transport projects are a key focus the role also requires project management skillsets to operate as interface with other State Government Authorities and Institutions for other critical initiatives being undertaken within the City of Kingston.

You will work across the entire organisation to ensure all facets related to these projects are captured, coordinated, and relayed back to the relevant delivery authorities and decision-making bodies, ensuring a cohesive approach and response from Council.

What you’ll deliver

  • Handle strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, design, procurement and execution on key and cross-functional projects
  • Collaboration with the Victorian Big Build portfolio on key projects
  • Generate partnerships within and external to the organisation to identify opportunities to deliver successful projects.
  • Drive change, foster a high-performance culture, and mentor staff for successful organisation-wide project implementation, shaping Kingston’s sustainable growth

What You’ll Bring

  • High quality and comprehensive project management services to deliver Council’s capital projects on time, to required outcomes and within budget
  • Excellent strategic planning skills in complex project with multiple parties and interfaces.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence outcomes to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and partnerships.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Strategy, Business, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing large complex projects and Strong stakeholder management experience, preferably within a Local Government setting.
