Position Description:
You will be joining Premier Services Group, an award-winning multidisciplined building service company specializing in the design, installation, servicing, and maintenance of building services. With over 35 years of operation and multiple offices across QLD, we deliver Electrical, HVAC, and Fire Services on major and minor projects.
Primary Objective:
The team is seeking a Fire Detection and Sound Tester, ensuring that fire detection systems and sound alarms meet compliance standards and operate effectively. Conducting routine testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire panels, detectors, and sound systems in various locations across Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and schedule testing and inspections of fire detection and alarm systems in compliance with Australian Standards (AS 1851).
- Conduct sound level tests to ensure alarms meet regulatory requirements.
- Identify and report any faults or deficiencies in fire safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of tests, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Liaise with clients to ensure smooth access and address any immediate concerns regarding fire safety.

What are we looking for?
- Sound understanding of Australian Standards related to fire safety is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and customer-oriented attitude.
Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- Experience in fire detection system testing and maintenance (further training can be provided).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Queensland (Generally will be anywhere from Tweed to Sunshine Coast, however, can limit the travel area to +-1 hour travel time with outliers to be picked up other techs).
- Sound understanding of Australian Standards related to fire safety is advantageous, but this can be taught or cheat sheets created.
