Hours per fortnight: 76 hours or 80 hours (including an ADO ever 4 weeks)

Technical Services Manager

As Technical Services Manager, you will lead a team of 9 IT professionals, overseeing network administration, system administration, and infrastructure management. Your mission is to ensure the seamless operation of IT infrastructure across the Loddon Mallee health region, providing technical leadership while executing Bendigo Health's IT strategy.

This role is managerial and strategic, requiring strong leadership, project execution skills, and the ability to influence digital transformation at the executive level. While you won't be hands-on in the technical work, your technical credibility will allow you to effectively lead and guide your team in best practices.

Your Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development - Manage, hire, coach, and develop a team of 9 IT Professionals (1 Team Leader, 4 System Administrators, 4 Network Administrators).
IT Strategy Execution - Deliver on the IT roadmap, ensuring alignment with Bendigo Health's digital strategy.
Executive Influence - Work alongside the Director - Information Technology Services to advise the Executive Team on infrastructure investments and IT transformation initiatives.
Infrastructure & Operations - Oversee network, systems, and cloud infrastructure while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
Cybersecurity Awareness - Promote best practices for cybersecurity controls in collaboration with a dedicated Cybersecurity Team.
Procurement & Fiscal Oversight - Drive vendor management, procurement activities, and cost-effective IT solutions (without direct budget accountability).

About You

To thrive in this role, you'll need:
Strong leadership experience - Proven ability to manage technical teams and develop talent.
Technical credibility - Knowledge of cloud computing, network infrastructure, and IT service management (ITIL preferred).
Strategic mindset - Experience in executing IT roadmaps and advising senior leadership.
Stakeholder management - Ability to collaborate across teams, influence executives, and drive technology improvements.

The Digital Services Division is charged with delivering technology solutions that deliver on our vision. As well as responsilbity for the mainstream ICT services and support the division encompasses Clinical Information Systems and projects, Clinical Analytics, Project Management, and associated resources including Clinical Informatics Officers.
