We are working closely with a large not for profit organisation to recruit for a Work, Health and Safety Coordinator. This organisation is a large not for profit, providing a range of services through the NDIS to support people with disability in the community. This role would involve visiting the various sites of the organisation and providing advice and guidance in regards to work practices, providing education and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

• Full Time, permanent position
• Salary from $75-95k plus super and salary packaging benefits
• Flexible work arrangements
• Reports into the WHS Manager
• Work across the Greater Sydney area with infrequent travel to the Northern Rivers / Queensland area

About the organisation

This organisation provides a range of services for people with disability across the Greater Sydney area and also up into the Northern NSW and Queensland area. Their services range from employment opportunities for people with disability, to support coordination and direct care.

Duties:

• Conducting regular audits to ensure that processes and employees are in accordance with WHS policies and guidelines
• Recommending corrective actions where needed
• Work closely with the WHS Manager and other stakeholders
• Work on WHS solutions and improvement initiatives
• Assess levels of risk where needed and lead investigations where required
• Engaging with stakeholders including staff, participants and management
• Continually review the effectiveness of WHS policies, procedures and practices and make improvements recommendations where needed.

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with experience in the WHS area – ideally someone with experience working in the NDIS / Aged Care / Community Services area
• Ideally relevant qualifications, but there is the possibility of flexibility with this, dependent on experience.
