About the Role:

To develop and implement Workplace Health, Safety (WHS) plans that support the achievement of the business objectives, primary contact for Intercast & Forge’s day to day injury management protocols.

You will be providing end to end site-based Work Health & Safety support to managers and employees on all safety related activities including, WHS plans, Incident investigation, Return to Work & Injury Management

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assisting in developing the business WHS plans and coordinating their implementation.
  • Investigating incidents and injuries, facilitating corrective actions and reporting on statistics and actions.
  • Developing and Implementing the WHSMS
  • Conducting Hazard analysis and risk assessments on new equipment and processes and reviewing existing assessments.
  • Reviewing safety guidelines and associated documentation.
  • Assisting in the planning of and conducting local safety audits.
  • Liaising with external safety and legal compliance auditors and addressing any actions from external safety or injury management audits.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the WHS safety management system.
  • Developing, delivering, and scheduling site safety training.
  • Conducting safety monitoring for individuals and their environment to a planned schedule.
  • Overseeing the Early Intervention Program
  • Assisting in preparing injury management plans required to retain RTWSA self-insurance.
  • Provide regular injury statistical data to WHS committee, management, and coordinators.
  • Maintain shop floor presence by interacting daily with operators and supervisors and identify issues and observations as seen on the shop floor.

Skills & Experience:

  • Formal Safety qualifications preferrable but not essential - Training will be provide to successful candidate
  • Commitment & passion to improve Safety in the workplace
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Experience in managing RTW claims in a self insurance environment
  • Donesafe WHSM experience preferable but not essential
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and internal stakeholders.
  • Advanced First Aid experience
