Law in Check is a progressive and growing law firm specialising in solicitor/client legal costs and is affiliated with one of Australia’s most reputable and trusted legal costing firms. At Law in Check, we focus exclusively on assisting individuals across Australia who have been overcharged by their lawyers. Our mission is to help clients reduce their legal fees.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Lawyer to join our team on a full-time basis.

The salary range is dependent on experience and qualifications.

About the role:

• Having carriage over multiple matters, dealing with client’s rights across Australia;
• Liaising with clients and obtaining instructions;
• Preparing letters of preliminary advice to new clients;
• Preparing notice of objections and submissions;
• Filing summons for taxations and costs assessments;
• Preparing timesheets and invoicing for own matters;
• Assisting with training of junior staff, as required;
• Court attendances, as required.

About you:

• 2+ years post admission or post qualification experience as a solicitor will be highly regarded;
• An interest in Costs Law;
• Experience appearing in court;
• Understanding of Legal Profession Uniform Law;
• Proven ability managing multiple matters and able to multitask;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong organisation, prioritisation, and time management skills;
• Self-motivated and be able to work as part of a team and autonomously;
• Technology-savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
