Location
Position is located Statewide (Rosny, Launceston or Burnie.
Duties
  • Provide high level guidance and direction to WorkSafe Tasmania relating to the regulation of psychosocial work health and safety in Tasmania.
  • Provide high level guidance and direction to WorkSafe Tasmania relating to the advancement of leadership and culture to support the management of psychosocial risks in Tasmanian workplaces.
  • Develop and review policies, procedures, tools and other documentation relating to the regulation of workplace psychosocial safety in Tasmania, including to support the Inspectorates to investigate psychosocial risks and hazards in workplaces.
  • Provide training and development for internal staff (and leaders) that enhances our knowledge and capability in the area of psychosocial safety.
  • Identify and assist in training requirements for leaders in relation to management and interventions required for staff, which promote a kind and positive culture and a psychologically safe work environment.
  • Engage and support government agencies and other stakeholders in relation to psychosocial safety.
  • Assist with and participate in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of psycho-social quality improvement, risk management, and other strategies consistent with best practice as required.
  • Provide a high level of clinical expertise related to organisational health, safety and wellbeing including return to work processes and psychosocial regulations.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to WorkSafe Tasmania’s quality and health and safety processes, including the development and implementation of safety systems, initiatives and related training.
  • The occupant of the position can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
Essential Requirements
  • Registration as a Psychologist within Tasmania in accordance with the provisions of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Tasmania) Act 2010.
Desirable Requirements
  • Area of Practice Endorsement from the Psychology Board of Australia such as organisational psychology, clinical psychology, or counselling psychology.
  • Eligible for membership of the Australian Psychological Society.
