The Novotel & ibis styles Melbourne Airport is a new dual-branded, 464-room hotel recently opened on 1 July 2024.
The Novotel Melbourne Airport with 248 rooms, and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport with 216 rooms, is located just steps away from Terminal 4, Melbourne Airport. Guests can enjoy access to a fitness centre, conference rooms, pool, co-working space and a number of food & beverage venues: Boccata, Small Holdings and Amber State, which form the hub of the mixed-use precinct.
This is a village centre supporting the airport community as a place to gather and socialise for everyone who travels and works from the airport precinct.

Job Description
As a Junior Sous Chef, you will be trade qualified and engaged to perform general or specialised cooking, butchering, baking or pastry cooking duties. You’ll help run the show by overseeing operations, managing a talented team, and making sure every dish is top-notch. You’ll be involved in menu planning, mentoring junior chefs, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly. If you love leading a team, working in a fast-paced environment, and keeping things organised, this is the role for you!

Your experience and skills include:
- Previous experience with a high level of responsibility within a kitchen brigade.
- Experience working within a hotel environment is highly regarded.
- Exposure to managing day-to-day staffing requirements, planning and assigning work, and motivating team members to achieve daily goals.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices.
- The ability and flexibility to work various rostered shifts, including early mornings, late evenings and on weekends.
