The Company
Our client is a publicly listed company looking to expand their sales team. Known for their success and accomplishments within the commercial lighting sector, they are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic account manager to join their growing business.

The Role
The Account Manager will be responsible for driving new business opportunities while also managing and growing existing client relationships within the Sydney area. You will inherit a database of major clients in the Sydney area, and look towards becoming the face of the brand in NSW.

Due to their strong onboarding, training and development program, our client is also open to someone with a strong technical background, willingness to learn and desire to move into a longer-term career in sales.

This hybrid role requires a blend of sales, technical and project management skills to deliver successful outcomes for clients. Reporting to the NSW Sales Manager, you will be responsible for owning projects from start to finish. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing existing client relationships and projects
  • Prospecting and generating new business leads through networking, cold-calling and other business development activities
  • Managing and developing relationships with key clients, including architects, engineers, consultants, builders, wholesalers and contractors
  • End-to-end project management of key commercial lighting projects
  • Providing technical expertise and support to clients on product selection, specifications and project requirements
  • Collaborating with the wider sales, specification and project teams to ensure seamless delivery
  • Preparing and presenting proposals, tenders and other client-facing materials
  • Tracking and reporting on sales pipeline, forecasts and key performance metrics

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a sales or account management role, preferably within the construction, lighting or related industry
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of lighting products, applications and specifications
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in using CRM and other sales/project management tools
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand product specifications
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proactive, driven and results-oriented approach
