Senior Server Automation Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Server Automation Engineer Lead to lead a technical team of 4 in a project and operations based role overseeing the maintenance and design of technical areas including:

• Automation and Scripting
• Security Hardening
• SOE Server design and build
• The design of and migration of patching solutions (moving from WSUS)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and secure Windows Server SOE (2016, 2019, 2022).
• Automate deployments, patching, and security hardening using Ansible and CI/CD tools.
• Implement RBAC and manage a large-scale VM environment (7,000+ VMs).
• Migrate WSUS patching and transition KMS licensing.
• Prepare for Windows Server 2025 SOE rollout across AWS, Azure, and VMware.

Required Skills:

• Strong, recent experience in a Senior Microsoft / DevOps/ SOE Engineer OR similar role within an Enterprise scale environment
• Extensive experience in managing large scale VM/ Microsoft Server infrastructure
• Automation & Scripting experience
• Experience with SOE Server design and builds
• Security Hardening
• Must have experience with the design of and migration of patching solutions (moving from WSUS)
• Expertise in Windows Server SOE development and security hardening.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Azure pipelines, and automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of VMware, AWS, and Azure infrastructure.
• Experience implementing RBAC and managing large server fleets.
• Cybersecurity and vulnerability management knowledge is a plus.

Desirable:
Previous experience working in the mining industry is advantageous but not mandatory (must have experience with Enterprise scale clients however)
